What We Pay in Cleveland, and What Moves the Number
Every junk car site in Cleveland says it pays the most. Hardly any of them will tell you how the price gets built. Ours comes from five things: how much the car weighs, whether the engine and transmission are still in it, whether the catalytic converter is still bolted underneath, how far off pavement it is sitting, and what the recyclers in the valley along the Cuyahoga are paying for a ton of steel that month. A compact that got stripped behind a duplex off Fleet Avenue and sank into a gravel drive is worth less than the same car sitting whole on a paved apron in Westlake. That is the whole math.
Around Cleveland most of what we buy lands in the low to middle hundreds. A heavy pickup or a full-size SUV with everything still on it goes well past that. A sedan with the converter already cut out loses a chunk. A car that rusted through the rocker panels after fifteen winters of road salt loses a little, but it is still steel and still worth a phone call. We give you the range for your specific car before anyone talks about scheduling a truck.
What we quote on the call is what the driver counts out at the curb, provided the car is the one you described. Leave out that the transmission is sitting in the garage and the figure moves. Tell it straight and it stays put. Nobody walks around the car on a Parma driveway looking for a reason to knock off two hundred dollars once you've already dug it out of the snowbank.
A Buyer on Superior Avenue, Not a Call Center
Our office is in the Superior Building at 815 Superior Ave E, Suite 1621, a 22-story tower from 1922 between E. 9th and E. 12th that has been on the National Register since 1991. That address does more work than it looks like. Most of the sites that come up when you search for junk car buyers in Cleveland belong to companies in Columbus, to an outfit in Oregon, or to a call center out of state. They collect your details and auction them to the highest tow bid. A stranger rings back an hour later with a figure that was never going to survive the driveway. We are the buyer. Whoever prices your car is the same person on the hook for sending the flatbed.
Cleveland has been collecting old vehicles for a long time. The city was laid out in 1796 at the mouth of the Cuyahoga, and the steel mills that filled the valley south of Tremont kept generations of families in pickups and sedans that got driven until they quit. Add the lake-effect snow, the salt that eats a rocker panel in a decade, and the narrow driveways between the doubles in Old Brooklyn and Slavic Village, and you get a lot of vehicles that stopped moving years ago and are still sitting where they died.
We buy those. The Taurus under a tarp behind a double on E. 71st, the minivan a tenant walked away from in a Lakewood apartment lot, the F-150 that threw a rod on I-480 and got dragged home to Garfield Heights. Every one of them is still a few thousand pounds of steel, an aluminum radiator, a battery and parts a shop on Pearl Road will pay for, and that is what pays for the free tow and your check.
After we load it, the usable parts come off and the fluids get drained the way Ohio EPA rules require. The shell goes to the recyclers in the valley, the same industrial flats that have been melting Cleveland's scrap since the river caught fire and the city cleaned it up. None of that is your job and none of it comes out of your price.

We work out of downtown and cover all of Cuyahoga County. West on I-90 and the Shoreway that's Lakewood, Rocky River, Westlake and Bay Village, and out Lorain Road to North Olmsted and Olmsted Falls. Southwest on I-71 we hit West Park, Brook Park, Middleburg Heights, Berea and Strongsville. South on I-77 and the Jennings Freeway we pick up in Old Brooklyn, Parma, Seven Hills, Independence and Broadview Heights. Southeast on I-480 and Broadway we cover Slavic Village, Garfield Heights, Maple Heights, Bedford and Solon. East up Cedar Hill and Mayfield Road we take the Heights, Shaker and Warrensville, and northeast on the Shoreway we run to Collinwood and Euclid.
Driveways, tree lawns, apartment lots, church lots, the back of a shop on Brookpark Road, a tow yard that wants it gone. If a flatbed can get within cable reach, we can load it. If the car is in a garage with a dead battery and four flats, say so and the driver brings skates.
Why Cleveland Calls Us First
The Phone Price Holds
Describe the car honestly and the figure we give you on the call is what the driver pays on Superior Avenue or out in Strongsville. We don't go finding new problems once you've already moved the good car to the street.
Free Tow Anywhere in the County
Westlake to Euclid, Bay Village to Solon, the tow is on us. Nothing comes off the price for the truck, the winch, or the forty minutes it takes to get a car out from behind a garage in Parma.
We Know the Title Office
The Cuyahoga County title office on E. 9th Street is a few blocks from our door. Lost title, lien that was paid off years ago, car in a late parent's name, we tell you exactly what to bring and which form to ask for.
Winter Is Not a Problem
A car that died in January and froze to the driveway still gets picked up. The driver brings a winch, skates and a shovel. Salt-rusted, no brakes, no steering, we have loaded worse off a tree lawn in Collinwood.
No Lead Network in the Middle
Your call comes to the company writing the check. It does not get auctioned to three tow outfits who then have to make their margin back off your price. That cut is where the surprise discount at the curb usually comes from.
Paid Before It Leaves
The driver checks the VIN and the title, you sign, you get paid, and only then does the car go on the truck. Keep your plates, cancel the insurance, and you're done with it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much can I get for a junk car in Cleveland?
For most cars around Cleveland it lands in the low to middle hundreds, and a heavy pickup or full-size SUV with the engine, transmission and converter still on it can go considerably higher. Weight, what is still bolted to the car, and what scrap steel is bringing that month decide the number. Tell us the year, make, model and what is wrong with it and you hear a firm figure for that car, not a bracket copied off a chart.
Do I need the title to sell a junk car in Ohio?
Yes. In Ohio a licensed buyer needs the certificate of title in your name, and we do not buy without it. If the title is lost, stolen or damaged, you get a duplicate on BMV form 3774 at a Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts Auto Title office. The state fee is $15. The downtown office at 2079 E. 9th St. is a short walk from ours, and there are branches in Parma, Bedford and North Olmsted.
Can I scrap a car in Ohio without a title at all?
Not through us, and not legally through any licensed buyer we know of. Ohio does not give private owners a no-title or derelict route the way some states do. The fix is the duplicate title on BMV 3774, which usually takes one visit to the title office. If there is an old lien on the record, the lienholder has to release it first, and we can tell you what to ask them for.
Do you buy cars that do not run or that are rusted out?
Yes. Most of what we pick up in Cuyahoga County does not start. Seized engines, dead batteries, no keys, four flat tires and rocker panels that road salt ate through are all normal. The driver winches it up the ramp and straps it down.
Is the towing really free?
Yes, everywhere we list, from Bay Village and Westlake on the West Side to Euclid and Solon on the East. The car pays for its own ride to the recycler. Nothing is subtracted from your price for the truck or the time.
How fast can you pick up a car in Cleveland?
Often the same day inside the city and the inner suburbs like Lakewood, Parma and Garfield Heights, and usually within a day or two out in Strongsville, Solon or North Olmsted. Winter storms and a car that has to be winched out of a backyard can add time. We give you a window when we book it.
Got a Car That's Done?
One call. A real number. A free tow from anywhere in Cuyahoga County, and cash in your hand before the truck pulls away.
